This is the second annual report and final report for EPM26937 Kelly West. The EPM was worked as part of a package of tenements held by Rio Tinto in the Mount Isa Region to explore for copper-gold or lead-zinc mineralisation. The rationale for EPM 26937 was that:
• It covers an area of Lady Loretta Formation, Paradise Creek Formation, and Gunpowder Formation, which are the hosts to the Lady Loretta strata-bound Pb-Zn deposit and the Lady Annie Copper deposit located 10km to the NE
• There is a Pb+Zn anomaly within the Cambrian cover that was recognised in previous drilling by BHP, which could potentially have been sourced from the underlying Proterozoic basement
• The EPM had not historically been evaluated for massive sulphide associated mineralisation utilising airborne electromagnetic surveys
Since grant, Rio Tinto have completed a literature review, an airborne electromagnetic survey, and geochemical sampling (soil and rock) of selected anomalies. This work failed to identify any targets for further exploration and the tenement is being relinquished in full.
