The EPM 25893 (EinGold East Project) Final Report describes the work carried out by Kronos Gold LLC (Kronos) on the tenement during the initial tenure term, commencing 22 September 2015 and ending September 2020. This tenement was ultimately returned back to the State at the end of the fifth year of the current reporting term.
EPM 25893 was located 280km south-west of Cairns and 35km south-west of Einasleigh, North Queensland.
The tenure was acquired as part of Kronos’ exploration strategy to discover Intrusion-Related Gold Systems (IRGS) (such as the Kidston gold mine) and Broken Hill Type (BHT) deposits in Queensland. The main exploration targets for the project area are gold and base metals.
During the five-year term, Kronos completed the following activities on EPM 25893:
▪ Desktop review;
▪ Fieldwork – total of 69 soil samples and 26 rock chip samples collected and analysed;
▪ Reprocessing of open-file geophysical data (internal); and
▪ Whole of tenement desktop review.
In the final year of the reporting term, Kronos elected to not renew the EPM for a further term. Kronos had identified prospective acreage in the area proximal to this EPM, and ultimately reapplied for the 12 sub-blocks which originally formed EPM 25893 as part of a larger EPM. Kronos is currently working with DoR to progress this EPM towards grant.
