ATP 2043 Kumbarilla 2019 Seismic Reprocessing Project

674.46 Km of vintage seismic data were re-processed and interpreted as part of the Year 1 commitment for Authority-To-Prospect 2043 Kumbarilla (ATP 2043). ATP 2043 lies in the south-eastern part of the Surat Basin, between the towns of Tara and Moonie. The block contains five conventional exploration wells and one CSG well. 59 seismic lines comprising eleven vintages of digital-era seismic data from 1980 to 1992, were included in the reprocessing project. The field data was sourced from Queensland government archives and sent to Earth Signal Processing Ltd (Calgary, Canada), who conducted the data processing. A near-surface velocity model was used to derive a static solution that resolves most line intersection mis-ties between vintages. A combination of five-component frequency domain deconvolution, and pre-stack depth migration resulted in seismic sections that are superior to any previous versions of the data which are publicly available. Synthetic seismograms were used to tie the wells and confirm consistent horizon picks. Eight seismic marker horizons were interpreted, and grids generated. Four horizons are within the Surat Basin sequence, from the Top Walloon Coal measures to the Base Jurassic Unconformity. The other four horizons are within the underlying, compressively deformed, Permian aged section. Depth conversion was performed using a 3D velocity Model built from the well time-depth functions and control surfaces.
