Description This is the first annual report and final report for EPM27681 Boree 2. The EPM was worked as part of a package of tenements held by Rio Tinto in the region to explore for sediment-hosted base metal mineralisation. • The EPM has conceptual potential for sediment-hosted base metal systems with metal-bearing fluids sourced from the Adavale Basin sequence, transported along major structures during halokinesis, and deposited in the Winton Formation. The EPM is underlain at depth by the Devonian Boree Salt of the Adavale Basin. Salt diapirs sourced from the Boree Salt are interpreted from seismic data along the Warrego Fault and related structures tapping the Adavale Basin sequence at depth. Salt ascension was up to ~2,500m. Salt ascension may have occurred during the Tertiary. Since grant, Rio Tinto has completed regional geochemical sampling (stream sediment, rock) and reconnaissance geologic traverses. This work failed to identify any targets for further exploration and the tenement is being relinquished in full.
